UTAH'S MIGHTY 5 ROAD TRIP
Utah’s Mighty 5 which include Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches National Parks are five magnificent national parks with diverse landscapes and natural wonders that are situated in the southern portion of Utah. Seeing Utah’s “Mighty 5” in a road trip offers an amazing adventure across a variety of geological formations, ranging from canyons and mesas to arches and hoodoos. Every park is different and offers outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers a memorable experience. This is unquestionably one of our favorites road trips in the United States. In order to ease some of the troublesome in coming out with a plan, I have included in the following an example of 7 -day and 10-day schedule for a road trip of Utah’s Mighty 5; feel free to alter it to suit your interests, your speed of travel, and your available time.

PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY (PCH) ROAD TRIP
A road journey along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), also called California State Route 1, offers breathtaking views of the coast, quaint villages, and a variety of landscapes, is a quintessential American adventure. The traditional PCH route connects San Francisco with Los Angeles, although it can also include a detour to San Diego in the south or a continuation north into northern California. You can travel in either direction on this point-to-point road trip. In my quest to help you with the itinery to enjoy this road trip, which we enjoyed so much as a family, I have included in the following an example of 7-day and 10-day PCH South (Los Angeles) to North (San Francisco) schedule for a road trip around the Pacific Coast; feel free to alter it to suit your interests, your speed of travel, and your available time.

AMERICAN SOUTHWEST ROAD TRIP
Gorgeous scenery, unusual geological formations, and a rich cultural legacy are the hallmarks of the American Southwest. It includes portions of Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico. Some of the attractions in American Southwest include Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Capitol Reef, Santa Fe, Taos Pueblo, Sedona and Las Vegas. Hikers, photographers, and anybody else looking for a special fusion of raw beauty and vibrant culture will find nirvana in this area. Experience the region’s diversity on this road trip through the Southwest, from the exuberant energy of Las Vegas to the breathtaking scenery of national parks. In order to ease some of the troublesome in coming out with a plan, I have included in the following an example of 5-day, 7-day, 10-day and 14-day schedule for a road trip of American Southwest. Obviously, you can modify according to your liking and available time. We love every minute spent exploring this area. We hope you will too!

YELLOWSTONE AND GRAND TETON ROAD TRIP
Yellowstone National Park is a remarkable national park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, although it also extends into Montana and Idaho. It is known for its geothermal features, including geysers, hot springs, fumaroles, and mud pots. The park is home to over half of the world’s geothermal features. Grand Teton is situated in northwestern Wyoming, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park. It is known for its breathtaking mountain landscapes, pristine lakes, and alpine terrain. Together, both parks form the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. And, as Grand Teton and Yellowstone are adjacent, it’s simple to explore both simultaneously.
Highlights:
- Yellowstone Highlights: Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Grand Prismatic Spring, Lamar Valley, Hayden Valley, Mammoth Hot Springs, Wildlife Viewing.
- Grand Teton highlights include Jenny Lake, Inspiration Point & Hidden Falls, Cascade Canyon, Oxbow Bend, Mormon Row Historic District, Schwabacher Landing, wildlife viewing, Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve, numerous hiking trails.

LAS VEGAS TO SAN DIEGO (CALIFORNIA & NEVADA DESERTS) ROAD TRIP
Highlights: Las Vegas, Valley of Fire, Red Rock State Park, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Anzo-Barenggo State Park, Mojave Desert State Park and San Diego.
Recommended Time: 7-10 DAYS
NOTE: You have the option to reverse the order if you would want to begin in San Diego and finish in Las Vegas.
November to April
ARIZONA ROAD TRIP
Highlights: Phoenix, Saguaro, Petrified, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon, Sedona.
Recommended Time: 7 to 10 days
Spring (March-May) and Fall (September-November)
ROUTE 66 ROAD TRIP (LOS ANGELES TO FLAGSTAFF AND BACK)
Entire Distance: 2,448 miles (Illinois, Chicago to Santa Monica, California)
Length of Time: 1 to 2 weeks to drive the entire distance, or you can drive a section of Route 66 (We drove the route from Santa Monica, California to Flagstaff, Arizona, and back)
Highlights (Entire Length): Chicago, ghost towns in New Mexico and Texas, quirky roadside shops and restaurants, Petrified Forest National Park and Santa Monica, among others while driving through 8 states which include Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
Highlights (California & Arizona): Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch, Grand Canyon National Park, Sunset Crater National Monument, Las Vegas, Valley of Fire, Red Rock, Death Valley National Parks, Flagstaff, Bearizona, Grand Canyon Deer Farm and many others.
Route 66, or also known as the Mother Road and the Main Street of America, is one of the most well-known routes in the USA. This route travels 2,448 miles from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. It was the path taken by people heading west to avoid the Dust Bowl in the 1930s and tourists traveling to Los Angeles in the 1950s. Route 66’s deterioration began in the 1960s when more direct roadways were built, which decreased traffic along the route. While some of road 66 was ignored and disregarded, there has been a rebirth along this road recently. Depending on your activities throughout the journey, you can drive the whole trip in one to two weeks. Alternately, just travel a section of Route 66 like we did California’s Route 66 and Arizona’s Route 66, which offers eccentric roadside stands and several fantastic places to see including Grand Canyon National Park, Sunset Crater at Flagstaff, and many others.
