ONE DAY IN ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

One day is a relatively short amount of time to explore Arches National Park fully, but you can still experience some of its highlights. Here’s a suggested one-day itinerary:

MORNING

1.Visitor Center

  • Visit the visitor center to gather information, and check for trail updates. The visitor center offers exhibits and ranger-led programs that provide insights into the park’s geology and history.

2.Devils Garden Trail:

  • Spend your morning exploring the Devils Garden Trail. This trail leads to several prominent arches, including Landscape Arch and Double Arch. You can choose the length of your hike based on the time available and your fitness level.

3.  Skyline Arch Trailhead

  • Head to Skyline Trailhead

4.  Sand Dune Arch Trailhead

  • Head to Sand Dune Arch Trailhead

MIDDAY

5. Panorama Point

  • Head to Panorama Point

6.Windows Section:

  • Explore the Windows Section, which includes North Window, South Window, and Turret Arch. The area is easily accessible, and you can enjoy these stunning arches without a long hike.

7.Balanced Rock:

  • Head to Balanced Rock, a short drive from Panorama Point. This impressive formation is easily accessible, and you can take a short walk around it.

EVENING

8. Park Avenue Trail:

  • Take late afternoon hike on the Park Avenue Trail. This relatively easy trail provides fantastic views of towering rock formations that resemble skyscrapers.

9. Delicate Arch Trail:

  • Embark on the Delicate Arch Trail in the early evening for sunset. The warm hues of the setting sun on the arches make for a spectacular sight. 

10. Stargazing:

  • If you’re staying in the park or the nearby area, take advantage of Arches National Park’s designation as an International Dark Sky Park. Find a dark spot away from artificial lights and enjoy the brilliance of the night sky.

Remember to check the current trail conditions, park alerts, and any time-specific information before your visit. Additionally, be prepared with sufficient water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Enjoy your day in Arches National Park!
